Sarco/Endoplasmic Reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) Inhibitors Isolated from Subtropical Marine Cyanobac target. This chapter describes the isolation, structure determination, total synthesis, biological activities, and clarification of the mode of action of SERCA inhibitors from marine cyanobacteria collected in Japan. In addition, we suggest a plausible ecological role for these SERCA inhibitors in the coral reef ecosystem.
