Analgesic effects of dipyrone as compared to placebo,ullness of experimental studies on healthy subjects for measuring drug effects is still controversial. The assessment of the effects of non-opioid analgesics with those methods provides exceptional difficulties, probably due to their minor psychotropic effects.

Testing the analgesic activity of dipyrone in human subjects using an experimental pain model with ases phasic painful stimuli were used without an actual inflammatory process being present. Under such conditions the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), in particular, are able to develop only a small part of their analgesic efficacy.
