描述.The book consists of 35 extended chapters which have been based on selected submissions to the poster session organized during the 3rd Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (20-22 April 2011 in Daegu, Korea). The book is organized into four parts, which are information retrieval and management, data mining and computational intelligence, service composition and user-centered approach, and intelligent management and e-business, respectively. All chapters in the book discuss theoretical and practical issues related to integration of artificial intelligence and database technologies in order to develop various intelligent information systems in many different domains. Such combination of artificial intelligence and database technologies has been regarded as one of the important interdisciplinary subfields of modern computer science, due to the sustainable development of networked information systems. Especially, service-oriented architecture and global multimedia systems used on a number of different purpose call for these developments. Mining Sequential Rules Based on Prefix-Treere. Both of them mine the complete set of rules but greatly reduce the number of passes over the set of frequent sequences which lead to reduce the runtime. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms outperform the previous method in all kinds of databases.

A New Model of Particle Swarm Optimization for Model Selection of Support Vector Machineombine the cognition-only model with the social-only model and use randomised low discrepancy sequences for initialising particle swarms. We then evaluate the suggested strategies with a series of experiments on 6 benchmark datasets. Experimental results demonstrate the model we proposed better than grid search and full PSO-SVM model.

Improving Availability in Distributed Component-Based Systems via Replicationefinitely be higher given that all the components are working properly. In this paper, we extend the work of the Avala model in two ways: (1) we provide a dependency relation between the components as an additional factor and (2) we extend the Avala algorithm by implementing a replication mechanism.
