Stem Cell Therapy in Neurological and Neurodegenerative Disease,ransplantation has potential as a powerful therapy for the regeneration of damaged central nervous system tissue. In this review, we discuss the therapeutic utility of different stem cell types and recent advancements in their use for the treatment of neurological and neurodegenerative disease.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Therapy for Neonatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy,hapter, we review preclinical reports that evaluated the effects of MSC-based therapies in preclinical models of HIE. We also discuss possible mechanisms of actions of MSC, including immunomodulation, neuroprotection and stimulation of neuroplasticity, as well as the possibility of combining MSC transplantation and therapeutic hypothermia.

Stem Cell Therapy for Spinal Cord Injury,merous pathophysiological mechanisms occurring at varying phases of SCI suggests that a single approach to the treatment of SCI may not be optimal. As the field continues to mature, the hope is that the knowledge gained from laboratory studies will be translated into the development of an effective multi-pronged treatment strategy for SCI.

Stem Cell Trials for Retinal Disease: An Update,ory into initial clinical trials, particularly in age related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa, however, the cells being used, the intended mechanism of action and method of delivery differ between projects. Here I expand on these considerations and provide some updates on the progress of the various clinical efforts.
