,New Applications of the SPD Concept: μSPD,native technique that may lead to ultrafine grained fibres or wires is pressing of metals through porous “filters” with micrometer or submicrometer scale open porosity. First results demonstrate the viability of this approach which we refer to as μSPD.

Microstructural Characteristics of Ultrafine-Grained Nickel,nt in the microstructure and to a smaller fraction of boundaries having low angles of misorientation. The estimated boundary surface energies were higher than anticipated from data for coarse-grained materials and the difference is attributed to the non-equilibrium character of many of the interfaces after SPD processing.

Low-Temperature Sheet Rolling of TiAl Based Alloys,crostructure in the γ sheets, which provides superior superplastic elongations, the decrease in rolling temperature leads to a substantial decrease in their cost because of energy savings, applicability of cheaper canning materials than those currently being used, less oxidation during preheating and thus a better surface finish.
