描述 | A critical, up to date, tutorial review and discussion of thescience and technology of nanostructured metallic and ceramicmaterials. The focus is on the synthesis and processing ofnanoparticles, the assembly and stability of nanostructures, characterization and properties, and applications. .There is a growing interest in the processing of nanoparticles intoconsolidated bulk materials and coatings. The metastability ofnanoparticles may lead to undesirable grain growth during thermallyassisted consolidation or other processing routes, and the retentionof nanostructures in a processed part or component continues toattract a great deal of attention. Current activity is concentratingon the deposition of nanostructured coatings using established thermalspray technology and wet chemistry methods. Naturally existing orartificially synthesized templates with unique structures andmorphologies have been used to fabricate nanostructured materials withthe same structural and morphological characteristics as thetemplates. Recent advances in characterization techniques haveprovided information on the structure, the surface and bulk chemistryof nanoparticles, and the structures and chemistry of ex |
