Laser-Assisted Growth and Processing of Functional Chalcogenide Nanostructuresspheres, of elemental Te, hybrid Te/TeO. and GeTe structures is presented. Owing to the high light absorption at visible wavelengths and the low melting points of chalcogen-based materials, simple cw lasers operating from near-UV to near-IR can be used for the controlled growth of such nanostructure

Cyclic Nanoindentation for Examination of the Piezoresistivity and the Strain-Sensor Behavior of Ind500?nm thick ITO films were deposited on glass slides using magnetron sputtering. The resistance variation of the resulting ITO/glass based sensors during cyclic indentation showed a good sensitivity and fast response to mechanical strain, with the gauge factor ranging from ?1.4 to ?3.7.

Nanoindentation Measurements of Cu Films with Different Thicknesses Deposited on a Single Crystallinnt thicknesses of the Cu film (t?=?85, 470 and 1,000?nm) were investigated. It is shown that the film thickness and the wide range of maximum loads applied are some of the main factors influencing the deformation peculiarities and mechanical properties (Young’s modulus . and hardness .) of the film/
