Responses to Stress: An Interdisciplinary Approach are related only to partial processes, and which may lead to reductionist conceptions by comparing complex cognitive processes to simple biological mechanisms. The present paper argues for an interdisciplinary approach to the study of stress, and illustrates this approach with a research example.
