A new technique for measuring ratios of elastic scattering cross sections: An application to the caost systematic uncertainties. Protons scattered from a mixed target are momentum-analyzed in a high resolution spectrograph and the scatterer is identified by the kinematic shift. The result of an application to scattering from the calcium isotopes .Ca is discussed.

On the general theory of the nucleon optical potential, concentrate on the general features of the optical potential and discuss briefly some approximation schemes feasible for the calculation of the GOP. In the discussion of numerical results, we restrict ourselves to investigations connected with dispersion relations.
