Data Analysis,lous changes in the forest environment, due perhaps to anthropogenic pollutants, can be examined based on the recent patterns of tree rings (e.g., Eckstein ., 1983, 1984; Cook, 1987a). This list of applications is not complete. It is only intended to show that tree rings can be used to study a variety of environmental changes.

Tree-Ring/Environment Interactions and Their Assessment,ause of missing knowledge on the frequency and intensity of environmental changes in the past and of their causal mechanisms. Dendrochronology is one of several fields that can contribute to filling this gap.
