Chemical-Carcinogen-Induced Transformation of Primary Cultures of Mouse Mammary Epithelial Cells Gro fat pads of syngeneic female mice. Resultant mammary outgrowths are scored as to the development of morphologically distinct preneoplastic and neoplastic lesions. The phenotype and the nature of genetic lesions is greatly dependent on the mitogen used at the time of carcinogen exposure.

Methods for the Induction of Mammary Carcinogenesis in the Rat Using either 7,12-Dimethylbenz[α]anthtreatment of breast cancer. This chapter provides a detailed account of the methods utilized to implement the two most widely studied chemically initiated models of mammary carcinogenesis in the rat. They are induced by treatment of female rats with either 7,12-dimethylbenz[α]anthracene or 1-methyl-1-nitrosourea.
