Substantiation of Statements. Empirical Verification of Hypotheses,ok shape in its course. In our investigations we are not interested in just any kind of answer, but in true answers, i.e. those which describe the actual state of affairs. On the basis of our results we decide whether we accept a given statement or set of statements as a true answer to the particular question.

Construction of Theories,s, and then to apply the verified propositions in order to explain and predict phenomena, but also to construct and verify theories. A closer look at how the term “theory” or “theoretical knowledge” is used shows that it has many meanings. To begin with, let us point out some which differ from that used in this textbook.
