Photosensory Responses in Freely Motile Microorganisms,ellular organisms. In this chapter we discuss, on the basis of the available experimental results and of theoretical considerations, the different steps of perception and transduction of light stimuli, which induce and control photobehaviors of microorganisms, focusing our attention on the possible role of membrane properties and functions.
