An Interactive Parallel Multigrid FEM Simulatorl multigrid explicit ODE solver which is stabler than single level schemes. The system consists of a graphical front end client on a workstation connected to a parallel simulation server that runs on a Linux cluster. After discussing the methodology in detail, the analysis of the speedup and preliminary results are presented.

Characterization of Soft-Tissue Material Properties: Large Deformation Analysisn ABAQUS. Our results show that the experimentally derived LEM matches closely with that derived from ABAQUS in plane stress and plane strain analysis and the Ogden hyperelastic model for soft tissue.

Design, Development, and Testing of an Automated Laparoscopic Grasper with 3-D Force Measurement Capurement capability at the grasping jaws. The laparoscopic tool can measure grasping forces and lateral and longitudinal forces, such as those forces encountered in the probing of tissue. Initial testing of the prototype has shown its ability to accurately characterize artificial tissue samples of varying stiffness.

A Nonlinear Finite Element Model of Soft Tissue Indentationwere explored based on values found for breast tissue [17, 25]. Results of the model are shown with a lookup table containing third order polynomial coefficient fits. This work serves as an initial method to determine the unique material parameters of breast tissue from indentation experiments.
