Morphological Basis of Gastrointestinal Motility: Structure and Innervation of Gastrointestinal Trat al. (1970) and Bülbring and Shu-ba (1976). The literature published on these subjects before 1968 is comprehensively treated in these reviews and will not be repeated in this chapter which presents more recent findings on the structure and innervation of gastrointestinal smooth muscle.
