Moving and Stationary Dislocations in Poroelastic Solids and Applications to Aseismic Slip in the Eaends strongly on whether the plane of the dislocation is permeable or impermeable. Applications of these solutions to interpret water well level changes caused by aseismic slip (creep) in the Earth’s crust are discussed.

Modelling of thermal consolidation of sparsely fractured rock in the context of nuclear waste manageitory. It was found that the flow and structural characteristics of this rock mass could be significantly perturbed by the thermal pulse generated by the wastes. The implications of these perturbations on the safety of the disposal system have to be further quantified.

Microstructure-Based Finite Element Analysis of Heterogeneous Medianstrated that the number of degrees of freedom necessary to obtain accurate results can be significantly reduced by using the proposed method. The effect of random distributions of inclusions on local stress concentration factors can also be easily evaluated using the proposed method.
