Effects of Dynamic and Static Loading on Compaction of Structured Soils,ing. But even at short loading times soil strength is increased in soils with low hydraulic conductivity as well as in structured soils. Soil strength was predicted by multiple regression analysis. Precision of the prediction was increased significantly by including shearing-resistance parameters as independent variables.

Strength of Low and Variable Charge Soils,end on complex interactions among charges, exchangeable cations, and moisture. The role of specific ions and of certain organic matter fractions has yet to be ascertained. Recognition of the mechanisms controlling strength variation, especially within soils, has important implications for the physical management of these soils.
