描述Material technology has become so diversified in theories andthe construction of novel microstructures that the researchers andpractitioners are drifting further apart. Extrusion of metal bars through different shape die: Damage evaluation by energy density theory,essment of stresses and strains but also in the selection of an appropriate failure criterion. Information on strain or energy localization induced in the material during its processing history can shed light on the desired combination of die shape with drawing rate so as to avoid or minimize the possibility of void or crack formation [1].

Strain energy density criterion applied to mixed-mode cracking dominated by in-plane shear, another should be describable by a single failure criterion. The time dependent crack growth relation may be stated in the general form . The crack size ., load parameter . and fracture resistance parameter . that is characteristic of the material can, in general, be time dependent.

A dislocation theory based on volume-to-surface ratio: Fracture behavior of metals,., is fundamental not only in describing material behavior but also in the assessment of material damage. The quantity . is indicative of the brittle/ductile behavior of structural components and has been used in the successful design of pipe lines [2] and other applications.
