The first volume of this two-volumework deals with elastic and elastoplastic behaviour; this secondvolume continues with viscoelasticity, damage, fracture (resistance tocracking) and contact mechanics. As in Volume I, the treatment startsfrom the active mechanisms on the microscopic scale and develops thelaws of macroscopic behaviour. Chapter I deals with viscoplasticbehaviour, as shown, for example, at low temperatures by the effectsof oscillatory loads and at high temperatures by creep under steadyload. Chapter 2 treats damage phenomena encountered in all materials- for example, metals, polymers, glasses, concretes -such as cavitation, fatigue and stress-corrosion cracking. Chapter 3treats those concepts of fracture mechanics that are needed for theunderstanding of resistance to cracking and Chapter 4 completes thevolume with a survey of the main concepts of contact mechanics. Aswith .Volume I., each chapter has a set of exercises, either withsolutions or wi | | 出版日期 | Book 1998 | | 關(guān)鍵詞 | Metall; elasticity; fatigue; fracture mechanics; polymer; polymers; viscoelasticity | | 版次 | 1 | | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-017-0498-4 | | isbn_softcover | 978-90-481-4974-2 | | isbn_ebook | 978-94-017-0498-4Series ISSN 0925-0042 Series E-ISSN 2214-7764 | | issn_series | 0925-0042 | | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 1998 |
