Respiratory Rate of Mayfly Nymphs in Water with Differing Oxygen and Ionic Concentrations,nger in the aerated treatments (p < 0.05). The number of gill movement periods showed no clear trend. There were no obvious differences between the responses of the nymphs to rainwater and distilled water.

Relationships Between Habitat Dynamics Food Availability, and Growth Patterns of Ephemerellid Mayflgle factors are inadequate to explain all observed patterns. Also, comparison of my results with other studies indicates that the relative importance of different selective factors probably varies with geographic location.

Distribution of Stoneflies in New Zealand,flies are known from the Chatham and Kermadec Islands. Overall reasons for distribution include past landforms, volcanic activity, precipitation and collector effort. The maps illustrating this account show distribution, habitat and mode of nutrition.

Transantarctic Relationships in the Plecoptera,re detailed study of phylogeny and distribution. However, present knowledge is inadequate and existing infra-familial classifications are at best tentative. Future research in leptoperloidean phylogeny is particularly interesting but a challenging task that will require new lines of research. Some possibilities are suggested.
