Smallpox Vaccination Discontinuation,In this section we consider the application of stochastic epidemic theory to a real problem. The question to be addressed is: when should routine vaccination against a rare disease be discontinued? This question will be discussed in terms of smallpox, though the ideas can be extended to a variety of other diseases.
