Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Mass Spectrometry on a Magnetic Sector Instrument Fitted With an Arosaccharides were also detectable at the 200 fmol level. The advantages of the array detector for improved resolution (5000 FWHM) and the benefits in complex oligosaccharide and glycolipid analyses relative to MALDI-TOF systems are shown. This improved resolution enabled ambiguities from the TOF data to be interpreted.

Applications of Quantum Chemistry in Mass Spectrometryntation behaviour, and these are discussed in some detail. Three illustrative examples are given: description of a simple bond cleavage, discussion of differences between isomers and a calculation of kinetic energy release in charge separation processes.
