Theoretical Framework, State of Research and Method,This chapter starts with an examination of central theoretical concepts such as political cults, identities, and concepts of the nation, with references to Lebanon (2.1). Previous work of scholars addressing the topic will be described. In addition, working definitions and theoretical assumptions are given.
