Manufacturing Strategy: an Overview of Current Process and Content Models,igm of manufacturing strategy has been slow. Three main reasons for this lack of progress are offered: a paucity of explicit attempts to build theory, a shortage of empirical research, and too little integration of manufacturing strategy research with research in related disciplines. Suggestions are made to address each of these shortcomings.

Manufacturing Strategy and Performance of the New Venture Firm,turing decisions to business unit strategy. Interestingly, the results of this study tend to indicate that both successful and unsuccessful firms have essentially the same perception of the industry. However, unsuccessful firms lack the ability to match key manufacturing decisions and business unit strategy.

Bridging the Strategic Outcome Measurement Gap in Manufacturing Organizations, conducting research that requires strategic outcome measurements. One of the major themes is that this method should be temporary; it is far more important for university-industry ties to become closer, and for efforts to be directed at finding practical, standardized methods for measuring strategic outcomes.
