Repulsion Effect: An Eye-Tracking Studythe decoy increasing the choice share of the competitor. In this paper, we show for the first time, how the introduction of a decoy may lead to an increase in choice of a competitor. More important, we also establish the mechanism by using an eye tracking study.

Why Compromise? I Want the Extreme!he middle or the compromise alternative and may end up choosing an extreme option, under conditions when both the attribute values are rated on a common scale (1–100). The author uses findings from the numerical cognition literature to show why this happens and, more important, provides a novel theoretical framework to explore context effect.
