Electrophysiology Study: Indications and Interpretationsctrophysiology study. Indications for an electrophysiology study are then discussed. They include (1) evaluation of syncope, (2) diagnosis of an arrhythmia, (3) evaluation of patients with Wolff–Parkinson–White, and (4) risk stratification of sudden cardiac death. The role of EP studies in non-ischemic cardiomyopathies is also addressed.
