Diamagnetism and Paramagnetism,the emphasis has shifted so that chemists are becoming more interested in the magnetic phenomena themselves. The subject is no longer a subsidiary one. One result of this new emphasis is that chemists have continued to decrease the working temperature of their experiments, with measurements at liquid helium temperatures now being common.

Long Range Order. Ferromagnetism and Antiferromagnetism,ty behavior quite different from what has been described above. In other words, the transition from the paramagnetic state to a magnetically ordered state with long-range correlations between the magnetic moments is in fact a phase transition.
