MARS Use in Assessment of Soil Liquefaction Based on Capacity Energy Concept,o initial soil parameters such as the relative density, initial effective confining pressure, fine contents, and soil textural properties. Analyses have been carried out on a total of 302 previously published tests using MARS, to assess the capacity energy required to trigger liquefaction in sand and silty sands.

MARS_LR Use in Assessment of Soil Liquefaction,operties. In this chapter, a modification MARS approach based on logistic regression (LR) MARS_LR is used to evaluate seismic liquefaction potential based on actual field records. Three different MARS_LR models were used to analyze three different field liquefaction databases, and the results are compared with BPNN.

Conclusions and Recommendations,fourth is to demonstrate the procedures of MARS use, including the model development, model interpretation, and parametric sensitivity analysis. The last is to illustrate the modified MARS procedure for pattern recognition/classification (MARS_LR), such as the liquefaction assessment and the stability evaluation of the entry-type excavation.
