Maturation of Bile Acid Uptake in Freshly Isolated Hepatocytes from Fetal and Newborn Rabbits, of life, which would tend to blunt the increase in serum bile acids. In animal studies Belknap et al (1981) have demonstrated that serum concentrations of total cholate conjugates are markedly elevated in the serum of suckling and weaning rats.
