90Y Microspheres for Other Liver Metastases,mited number of small lesions. Unfortunately, at the time of recognition, most patients already have extended liver disease. Liver metastases have been shown to depend heavily on the hepatic artery for most of their blood supply, whereas the normal liver parenchyma derives the majority of its blood supply from the portal vein [2].

Patients are able to resume normal activities shortly following treat- ment, with minimal side effects, in contrast to the post-embolization syndrome often associated with current chemoembolic techniques.

Use of 90Y SIR-Spheres in the Treatment of Unresectable Hepatic Metastases from Neuroendocrine Tumond pulmonic cardiac valves arises from long-standing carcinoid syndrome. Foregut carcinoids, commonly originat- ing in the bronchus, metastasize to bone but the ap- pearance of the carcinoid syndrome is uncommon.
