Application of Liquid Crystals in Spectroscopy,nown molecules are, as a rule, independent of direction. Measurements, e.g.; UV, IR, NMR, ESR, OR, ORD and CD are, hence, normally carried out in isotropic solvents in which a preferred molecular orientation cannot take place.
