Score Linking Issues Related to Test Content ChangesThis chapter addresses issues of score scale continuity in the event of changes to a test. A testing program needs to evolve from time to time to strengthen its alignment with school reform, curriculum changes, and changes in the test-taking population.

Some Further Thoughts on ConcordanceBoth preceding chapters in this part treat the limitations of concordance tables (tables that relate scores on tests that measure similar, but not identical, constructs). Dorans and Walker (Chapter 10) discussed requirements for equating and statistical indicators of concordance quality.

Sizing Up Linkagescan be of different types. For example, any score can be predicted from any other score(s) via an asymmetric regression equation. Alternatively, symmetric relationships can be established between pairs of scores, given the correct data collection designs.
