Using combinations of filtration, agar plating, and selective agents, leptospires can be isolated in pure cultures even from complex contaminated sources in standard EMJH culture medium.

Here, we propose multiple procedures to isolate, purify, and characterize bacteriophages, based on protocols used for LE3 and LE4 characterization.
