Resisting from Without: The Illusive Promise of the Alternative Legal Order,ingboard to examine the complex ways in which law facilitates, with limits, this process. In turning to disputing, I reframe the spaces of the state, village and family as ‘legal’ orders, which offer solutions through processes of dispute resolution and alternative ways of viewing the grievances that underlie them.
