The History and Challenges of Japan’s Low-Carbon Transportation Systems the early 1970s and has been struggling for the low-carbon transportation system mainly by introducing transportation demand management schemes. The recent car technologies help lower CO. emission by applying efficient engines, new generation vehicles and ITS.
