,57Fe M?ssbauer spectroscopy of radiation damaged samarskites and gadolinites,metamict gadolinites. The absorbed α-dose for these minerals are found to range from 3.6 × 10. α-decay/mg for one of the gadolinite samples to 7.7 × 10. α-decay/mg for one of the samarskite samples. The M?ssbauer spectra of samarskites and gadolinites show increasing line widths of the Fe. doublets
