Peer-Tutors as Writing Centre Peer-Mentors at the American University of Sharjah,focus on “hands-on” learning: they model, observe and reflect on writing centre tutorials, discuss their experiences teaching each other, and provide feedback on sample student papers. Our experience shows that as a result of this formal training, mentors are able to reflect upon and improve their mentoring practices.

Learning to Mentor Junior High School Teachers in Japan,ic talk to more dialogic talk. This happened as the mentor changed turn-taking strategies and improved at listening and responding to the mentee. Dialogic talk is essential if the aim of the POF is to reach joint understandings of classroom phenomena. This paper provides insights into facilitating dialogic talk.
