This paper proposes a conceptual framework that identifies and aggregates the challenges, and a circuit-breaker approach as an “off ramp” to the fail-fix cycle.

The Hubbard Model and Its DescendantsMany theorists have devoted a considerable part of their careers to the Hubbard model. Nevertheless, it remains a source of much fascination and bewilderment. Perhaps it is because the Hubbard model is the simplest many-particle model one can write down, which cannot be reduced to a single-particle theory.

Spin Exchange ordering of magnetic moments. The classical dipolar interaction between the electron moments (which is of order 10.eV) is far too weak to explain the observed magnetic transition temperatures (which are of order 10.–10. °K in transition metal and rare earth compounds).
