Conclusions and Recommendations for Future Work,Flexible manufacturing systems have attracted significant attention in recent years due to their flexibility and capacity to deal with unexpected events. One class of such systems is called robotic flexible assembly cells (RFAC). The design of RFAC with more than one robot offers many advantages.

Development of an Intelligent Methodology for Scheduling RFAC, years. Due to the complexity of these systems, the generation of production schedules requires an intelligent technique. Many artificial intelligence techniques such as fuzzy logic (FL), genetic algorithms (GA) and neural networks (NN) have been successfully applied to the scheduling of advanced manufacturing systems.

In this chapter, the proposed methodology will be examined using a realistic case study to prove the effectiveness of the methodology in generating the schedule for assembling multi-products.
