Assemblability evaluation using fuzzy inference, functional requirements, designers must know how to rationalize machining, assembly, and inspection processes. The ability to evaluate the tradeoff between design alternatives and related manufacturing costs is essential, in that assemblability improvement may be unrealistic if the improved design demands a high manufacturing cost.
