描述It is an edited book with chapters written by multi-disciplinary specialists in their specific subject areas. It covers development of IPM components and packaging them for individual vegetable crops specifically targeted to tropical countries. Scientific background for IPM components or tactics will be included. There will be case studies of IPM packages developed and implemented in different countries. The concept of IPM has been in existence for the past six decades; however, a practical holistic program has not been developed and implemented for vegetable crops, in the developing countries. ? Currently the IPM adoption rate in the tropics is minimal and there is a need for implementation of IPM technologies that are environmentally safe, economical, and socially acceptable. We believe that adoption and implementation of IPM provided in this book will lead to significant reduction in crop losses and mitigate adverse impacts of pesticide use in the tropics. This book is an outcome 20 years of research, development and implementation of the IPM CRSP, a project supported by USAID and administered by Virginia Tech in several developing countries along the tropical belt in Africa, As

Integrated Pest Management of Cruciferous Vegetables,oduction and are most commonly consumed as green and cooked vegetables worldwide. They are attacked by wide array of insect pests and diseases which significantly reduce their quality and yield. In this chapter, the bioecology of economically important pests and diseases and the IPM packages developed globally to manage them are discussed.

IPM Technologies for Potato Producers in Highland Ecuador,r research findings, and participatory engagement of local stakeholders all contributed to the project’s success. Emergence of new pests and changing potato market conditions are the main threats to long-term viability of the IPM packages, but they have spread into many potato farming communities in Carchi Province.

IPM Packages for Tropical Vegetable Crops,, landscape management, conservation of natural enemies and biological control. The IPM packages consisting of the above technologies are detailed. The effective IPM technology transfer approach as developed by the IPM Innovation Lab is explained.

Integrated Pest Management of Vegetable Crops in Bangladesh,oil borne diseases, pheromone trapping for the management of cucurbit fruit fly and eggplant fruit and shoot borer, infected shoot clipping in eggplant and release of bio-control agents for control several of pests.
