Optimal Control Policy for a General EMQ Model with Random Machine Failuret per unit time. The problem is formulated and analyzed in the framework of semi-Markov decision processes and renewal reward processes. An algorithm is develpped for computing the optimal policy and the optimal expected average cost, and a numerical example is presented to illustrate the computational algorithm.
