Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy,, when it plays a key role in structural analysis and identification of organic molecules. Although NMR is less sensitive than some techniques, such as UV or fluorescence spectrophotometry, it can be applied much more widely and provides specific structural information that is often adequate for the unambiguous identification of organic molecules.
