Phase Bistability and Squeezing in a Two-photon MicromaserA quick tutorial review of the coherent and squeezed states is presented. We also derive the master equation for the two-photon micromaser, with atomic coherence. We find that the atomic coherence produces a bifurcation in the phase probability distribution and squeezing. The maximun squeezing is 36% and it occurs below threshold.

Site-Exchange Cellular AutomataWe study the stationary density of nonzero sites of automata networks whose local rule consists of two subrules. The first one, applied synchronously, is a one-dimensional range-one cellular-automaton rule. The second, applied sequentially, mixes the site values. The mixing results from either a local or a nonlocal exchange of the site values.
