Parameterized feasible boundaries in gradient vector fields, new smoothness objective to ensure the physical feasibility of the contour..The method is evaluated on artificial data. Results on real medical images show that the method is very effective in accurately locating object boundaries in very complex medical images (see figure 7, figure 8 and figure 9).

A multiscale approach to image segmentation using Kohonen networks,th all weight vectors, and assigning each pixel the class of the best matching weight vector. In our study we evaluated the benefit of applying features at multiple scales, as well as the effects of first and second order information on the results.

Reconstruction of a three-dimensional volume from a motion-corrupted two-dimensional data set in ma the slice. We then discuss two different techniques to reconstruct the 3-D volume swept out by the slice during the data acquisition. Reconstructions are presented to demonstrate that 3-D information can indeed be extracted from the corrupted 2-D data set.

A feature space for derivatives of deformations,underlying landmark-driven spline. Local scale change, local rotation, and unidimensional local dilatation follow as special cases. The resulting synthesis of the landmark-based and image-based approaches to analysis of deformations seems to us much more promising than either approach separately.
