Approaches to the study of the extraradical mycelium of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,cal mycelium (ERM) of AMF through a nylon mesh screen (30–40m) into a root-free compartment (.; .; .). In this review, therefore, we will attempt to highlight recent approaches taken to improve our knowledge of the ERM in terms of its development, functioning and activity for individual AMF.

Biodiversity and characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi at the molecular level,broader sense (deletions, translocations, duplications), and resulting diversity can be evaluated at the molecular level and used as a phylogenetic character. Diversity at the subspecies level is a function of both mutation rates and gene flow between individuals.

Impact of mycorrhizal colonisation on root architecture, root longevity and the formation of growthphological parameters. While effects of AMF are less extreme than those of ecto-mycorrhizas they have the potential to be of equal importance. The existence of effects raises questions as to how these effects are caused.

Hyphal phosphorus transport, a keystone to mycorrhizal enhancement of plant growth,d therefore present in very low concentrations in the soil solution. The mycorrhizal enhancement of plant-P uptake is related to the ability of the external hyphae of the mycobiont to cross the P-depletion zone around the roots and thereby get direct access to P which would otherwise be available to the plant only via slow diffusion processes.

Recognition and infection process, basis for host specificity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,st roots is characterized by distinct stages involving a number of complex morphogenetic changes in the fungi: spore germination, hyphal differentiation, appressorium formation, root penetration, intercellular growth and arbuscule formation.
