Semantics-Based Image Retrieval by Region Saliencyure. The context of regions in an image describes their relationships, which are related to their relative-saliencies. High-level (semantics-based) querying and query-by-example are supported on the basis of the content and context of image regions. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

Spectrally Layered Color Indexing the layers individually. By indexing the layers separately, we are implicitly associating the indices with perceptual and physical meanings thus greatly enhancing the power of color indexing while keeping its simplicity and elegance. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

JPEG Image Retrieval Based on Features from DCT Domains developed. The system are robust for the translation, rotation and scale transform with minor disturbance. The theoretical analysis and experimental results also demonstrate the system has good performance whether in retrieval efficiency or effectiveness.

FACERET: An Interactive Face Retrieval System Based on Self-Organizing Mapsrocess is a good possibility to solve this task. In this context, FACERET, a content-based face retrieval system that uses self-organizing maps and user feedback is here introduced. Some simulations of the FACERET operation are also shown.
