The Clinical Pharmacology of Co-Dergocrine in Age-Related Cerebral Insufficiency,ively offset by decay unless adequate work is invested in its maintenance. Living systems actively oppose decay in various ways, but the mechanisms for tissue and cell maintenance are themselves susceptible to disruption, and ageing ensues, affecting not only somatic functions but also cognition, memory, behavior and affectivity.

Toxicologic Considerations,ugh more-recent data are available in the area of reproduction studies. In man, systematic analyses of reported side-effects with ergot compounds are regrettably rare; most of the literature deals with individual case reports, and extremely few accounts of side-effects to co-dergocrine are known.

Basic Pharmacologic Properties: Peripheral Effects on Neurotransmission,There is a specific relationship between ergoline and the biogenic amines noradrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin (5-HT), as shown in Fig. 5: the three neurotransmitters can be regarded as structural fragments of the ergoline moiety. Consequently, ergot alkaloids possess affinity for the corresponding receptors.
