The HRM Debate,id to characterise personnel management, contrasted with a list of what characterises HRM. As suggested in the introduction, it is equally possible to place approximate dates — for example, pre-1980s, post-1980s — and under both dates list a set of management practices as characterising the two eras.

Equal Opportunities,re employed. To do so is to limit the supply of labour available, and this, other things being equal, will make wages higher. It would follow from this that there may be some motivation for those in employment to restrict entry into that employment.

Recruitment and Selection,ements, for example vis-à-vis disabled persons. Many of these were discussed in Chapter 6. It was also seen there that there are objectives to be achieved in line with NHSE guidelines as far as trusts are concerned.
