Evidence for a B-cell origin of the proliferating cellsReed-Sternberg cells and a decrease in the lymphocyte admixture. The non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas have been demonstrated to be monoclonal proliferations of B- or T-lymphocytes, but in Hodgkin’s disease neither the cell of origin nor the monoclonal origin of the Reed-Sternberg cells has been established with certainty.
